Although the author, being constrained to the book's volume, does not take great details within the scope of this book, it presents the crucial moments and peculiarities that defined the nature of the Rusyns.

Being a native of Subcarpathia, the author is a connoisseur of his subject matter. His interpretation of the past is distinctly scientific; he carefully distinguishes fact from legend, though he does not neglect the latter, but rather considers it to be an important component of the national identity. The author's survey of the present-day Rusyn aspirations and endeavours appears extremely up-to-date and fresh.
