Publisher's Preface

Present volume - 'MACHIAVELLI: Republicanism and Liberal Democracy' - contains the essay of Victor Segesváry on the quintessence of republicanism in English, Hungarian and Italian. The essay was originally published in the periodical VALÓSÁG in 1998 in Hungarian. In 2003 it appeared in Italian, translated by the author himself, in the periodical CLIO. The English version, which was also created by the author, is published for the first time.

Jelen kötet - 'MACHIAVELLI: Republikánizmus és liberális demokrácia' - Segesváry Viktornak a republikanizmus lényegéről írott tanulmányát tartalmazza angol, magyar és olasz nyelven. A tanulmány eredetileg magyar nyelven 1998-ban jelent meg a VALÓSÁG című folyóiratban. Olaszul a CLIO című folyóiratban 2003-ban, a szerző fordításában. Az angol nyelvű fordítás, amely ugyancsak a szerző munkája, most jelenik meg először.
