"On June 18, 1869, the Sovereign signed the deed for the founding of the Magyar Királyi Földtani Intézet (Royal Hungarian Geological Institute) and, shortly after, on September 8, 1869, Miksa Hantken, head of the former Geological Department, was appointed first director of the Institute."
