The patterns of non-employment in Hungary's least developed regions
"At the eve of 1999 the Hungarian government chose new policies to combat the unemployment problem. The maximum duration of unemployment insurance (UI) benefit was reduced from 12 to 9 months. The flat-rate, means-tested assistance benefit for UI exhausters was abolished."
