"It is probably safe to say, though, that not many Florentines settled in the Kingdom prior to the reign of Louis I of Anjou (1342-1382). The earliest information on a Florentine merchant so far is dated to 1370 when a court case refers to a certain Taddeo Bettucci who was residing in the Kingdom for business purposes."
